Knowing how well you are doing in school
A new set of examinations for everybody
From September 2018 all the new courses for Key Stage 5 will be in place and the old AS courses terminate. From this point onwards A Level examinations will all take place at the end of year 13 and there will not be public examinations at the end of Year 12. All BTECS will no longer be coursework only and will have significant examination components.
what this means for our sixth form
For us as a sixth form, this means we enter into a new rhythm and cycle on how we will operate in Year 12. Progression will be dependant on performance in your end of year terminal assessments. these will be held in the week commencing 24th June 2019 and academic achievement will now be required in order to continue through to year 13
We cannot stress enough the importance of these examinations which will be viewed alongside your performance throughout the year when progression through to year 13 will be granted.
PLEASE NOTE THAT IF YOUR ATTENDANCE FOR A SUBJECT DROPS BELOW 90%, ENTRY FOR THAT EXAMINATION AND OR PROGRESSION THROUGH TO YEAR 13 CANNOT BE GRANTED UNLESS THERE ARE EXTENUATING CIRCUMSTANCES
